Jon Husband on Strongly Connected Organisations (video)

15 years ago Jon Husband coined and defined the term and concept wirearchy:

“a dynamic two-way flow of power and authority, based on knowledge, trust, credibility and a focus on results, enabled by interconnected people and technology”.

All these years after, the concept of wirearchy still “makes people nervous”. Why?

Wirearchy is born from the realisation that organisations have to improve their sense-making and their engagement with uncertainty. It suggests therefore that power and control must be appreciated on the basis of speed, flexibility, innovation, integration, expertise and knowledge, and intuitive authority.

“The only thing that has ever really created tangible economic and social value are humans interacting.”
