As a knowledge manager with twenty years’ experience, Brian Steenson has been responsible for both strategic and practical implementation of knowledge management in organisations including Book Aid International, Plan International and Save the Children.
Brian currently manages the knowledge management program in Syngenta’s Crop Protection division. This involves setting strategic direction and developing the framework and systems to effectively support the flow of knowledge. The program includes managing our network of communities of practice known as LEAP (learning exchange accelerating progress).
The LEAP program was established in 2009 to support communities of subject matter experts share their learnings within a digital environment. In 2018 Syngenta relaunched these on the Office365 platform. In 2019 Brian contributed to a review of their operating model to operationalise knowledge management through Syngenta programs and projects.
In 2013 Brian was a founding member of the INGO knowledge and learning network, a community for practising knowledge managers in international development.
Brian supports Burnley Football Club, writes very bad guitar songs and has taken up golf again after 35 years to discover he’s even worse than he remembered.
