ARRIVING IN LISBON BY PLANE
As Lisbon Airport has its own metro station “Aeroporto”, the subway is the most convenient public transport.
Red Line: From the “Aeroporto” to “Saldanha”.
There are two taxi stands at the airport, normally queueing outside the departures and arrivals terminals.
The basic Lisbon taxi fare is €0.47 per km, and there is a minimum fare of €3.25 (daytime) or 3.90€ (night time).
The estimated cost for the journey Airport – Jupiter Lisboa Hotel is between 13€-15€.
ARRIVING IN LISBON BY TRAIN
From “Oriente” train station, you can take the metro’s Red Line from “Oriente” to “Saldanha”.
From “Santa Apolónia” train station, take the metro’s Blue Line from “Santa Apolónia” to “São Sebastião”, switch to Red Line to “Saldanha”.
From “Entrecampos” train station you can walk (700m).
TIPS ABOUT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN LISBON
Occasional users of Lisbon’s public transport need to purchase the electronic reusable cards called “Viva Viagem” which can be topped up
with tickets or money (pay as you go ‘zapping’ credit). This card is valid for all member operators, as Metro, Bus (Carris), Train, etc.).
Viva Viagem card can be bought in vending machines inside Metro Stations and you can buy trips or load money on the card.
If you are planning to use different operators the ‘zapping’ credit would suit you best.
